After eight weeks of artistic research in Lagos, a new chapter of Fela, The Feminine Resistance begins. I have now arrived at New Culture Studio in Ibadan , where the second and final phase of the residency will transform months of fieldwork into a public programme of exhibitions, workshops, and conversations. The first part of the residency was devoted to research: visiting archives, museums, and cultural sites; photographing urban landscapes; recording sounds and testimonies; and collecting fragments of memory connected to the women who shaped, sustained, and resisted within the world surrounding Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Now, the focus shifts from investigation to sharing.
Over the coming weeks, I will complete the production of the exhibition and the artist's book while engaging with local audiences through educational and public programmes. These moments of exchange are an essential part of the project, creating opportunities to discuss photography, memory, archives, and artistic research with different communities.

This final stage represents the culmination of a residency that has unfolded across Lagos and Ibadan, bringing together photography, archival materials, sound, textiles, and lived experiences into a multidisciplinary exhibition.
