Fela, the Feminine Resistance: My Selection for the Africa–Europe Cultural Mobility Programme / Fela, la résistance féminine : ma sélection au programme Africa–Europe Cultural Mobility
I am honoured to announce that I have been selected for the Africa–Europe Partnerships for Culture Sub-Saharan Africa Component — Individual Mobility Grants programme, implemented by the Goethe-Institut in partnership with Expertise France and the Institut français. This selection supports my artistic residency project, Fela, the Feminine Resistance, which will be developed in Nigeria in 2026.
The project combines photography, archival research, and visual storytelling to explore women’s roles, memory, and forms of resistance within African cultural histories. Through this work, I aim to engage with overlooked narratives and contribute to a broader reflection on how women shape cultural memory and historical consciousness across the continent.This residency is part of the wider Africa–Europe cultural cooperation framework, fostering transnational artistic exchange between Africa and Europe. It also strengthens research-based artistic practice and supports the development of long-term professional networks across both regions.

Cette sélection soutient mon projet de résidence artistique Fela, la résistance féminine, qui sera développé au Nigeria en 2026.Ce projet articule photographie, recherche archivistique et narration visuelle autour des questions de mémoire, de résistance et de la place des femmes dans les récits culturels africains. Il s’inscrit dans une démarche de recherche artistique visant à revisiter des histoires souvent invisibilisées et à mettre en lumière les contributions féminines dans la construction des mémoires culturelles. Cette résidence fait partie d’une dynamique plus large de coopération culturelle Afrique–Europe, favorisant les échanges artistiques transnationaux entre les deux continents. Elle permet également de renforcer une pratique artistique fondée sur la recherche ainsi que de développer des réseaux professionnels durables à l’échelle internationale.
